Santa Monica Rugby Club Sets Goal to Enroll 100 Families for SMRC’s Ralph’s Community Contribution Program. Our Goal is to sign up 100 families in the next 30 days. The larger the grocery bill the larger the contribution –so we are targeting the Old Boys with young families and the families of our youth players to step up and meet this challenge.

“A recent study determined that the average Los Angeles/Long Beach area family spent $7,194 on food. $4,064 at home and $3,131 for food prepared away from home. Of all the major metropolitan areas listed, Los Angeles was the highest.” As we all know, the older the child the more expensive they are. “A 15 to 17 year old added $2,330, where a child less than 2 years old added only $1,200 to the annual grocery bill.”

Based on an average families grocery expenditure Ralphs will make an annual contribution to SMRC of $60.00 per family.  Each family adds up! And with 100 families enrolled we expect to raise $6,000 annually, plus the contributions from the Men’s & Women’s teams.

This is a great program that enables your family to contribute to the club simply by shopping for groceries once you enroll your Ralphs Card.
