Former Super 15s star joins Dolphins!
Former Blues and Hurricanes flyhalf, Michael Hobbs has joined the Dolphins for the season.Hobbs, who grew up in Wellington, NZ, is taking a leave of absence from professional rugby. Having represented New Zealand at the schools and U-19 level Hobbs jumped into professional rugby with a stint at the Melbourne Rebels and Highlanders before joining the Blues.
Hobbs follows several other Dolphins, Brendan Daniel (2007), Matt Sonter (2009) and coach Marc Stcherbina who have all played Super Rugby. Hobbs boasts 31 Super Rugby caps and 63 points in three seasons of play.
Following the season with SMRC Hobbs looks forward to returning to New Zealand for the ITM Cup where he plays for Wellington, and then back into Super Rugby in 2014.
