SMRC Takes in USA Rugby

SMRC U12 players Adam Dreyfus and Keishi Tateda are flag-bearers at the USA-TONGA test match

250 Members of the Santa Monica Rugby Club Family loaded up the double decker bus and headed down the Stub Hub Center to take in the double header of USA Women’s vs. France and the international test match of Pacific Nations Cup rivals USA and Tonga.

In the Women’s game, Ashley Kmiecik and Erica Cavanaugh each scored a try in the Women’s Eagles’ third test against France in eight days in front of a capacity crowd in Carson, but it was not enough to overcome Les Blues, with the visitors coming away with an 18-12 win.

In the men’s game, it was close through the first half, but Team USA failed to score in the second half and Tonga left with the win, 18-9
