Dolphins First side takes 7th straight
On a cloudy Saturday afternoon at the Dolphin Pit, Santa Monica did it again.
The Dolphins pulled out their seventh consecutive victory against third place LA Rugby Club 40-12.
For the Dolphins, who haven’t lost since January 5th this was a crucial match as a loss to LA would have dashed the Dolphins hopes of winning the league championship.
In the match the Dolphins started strong with a quick try put in by captain Aaron Davis in the fifth minute but failed to score again until the second half due to an array of 50/50 passes on deep line breaks.
In the second half LARC kept it close scoring two tries and eventually tying the score at 12-12 with fifteen minutes to play. After that the Dolphins put the hammer down and never let up, scoring 28 unanswered points en route to victory.
Center Shane Morales scored twice and Kelly Serfoss, AJ Wooley and Padraig Cremin added one each to bring the final score to 40-12 in front of a raucous crowd on Santa Monica’s 2013 club day.
Next up for the Dolphins are the Las Vegas Blackjacks at home on March 23rd where Santa Monica will look to improve to 8-1 on the season.
