USC Dexterity study this Saturday at Webster
Santa Monica Women’s team member, Emily Lawrence – a biomedical engineer at the University of Southern California – will be conducting a study at Webster Field this Saturday, as part of her research that measures dexterity in the hands and legs.
This is a study about how people use their hand to handle objects and how they use their legs to balance and walk. Her focus is on learning how different factors, such as age, gender, fatigue, history of injury, and athletic background, affect dexterity. She has developed a portable system that can measure and record dexterity from volunteers and will set up at Webster Middle School during home games. The test takes no longer than 45 minutes to complete and any volunteer between the ages of 10 and 100 are welcome to participate. If you would like to participate, the study will be located under a USC canopy this weekend at Webster Middle School or please contact Emily at ellawren@usc.edu. Thank you in advance for your help.
